Iowans for Tax Relief Diss Ron Paul? Dr. Paul makes Lemonade.
The Iowans for Tax Relief are co-hosting with the Iowa Christian Alliance a Presidential Candidates Forum on June 30th in Des Moines. The Iowans for Tax Relief (ITR) has a stated mission of lobbying "for reduced state government spending and lower taxes for all Iowans."
It is very curious then that their sponsored forum excludes Ron Paul, who is widely known as the Taxpayer's Best Friend. The Ron Paul campaign tried to inquire about their exclusion and tried to ask for a reason for it. However, the only excuse Ed Failor, an executive for the group, could come up with for his exclusion was that he wasn't a credible candidate when the decision was made on who to invite. He refused to go into detail about how they made their decision or decided the Duncan Hunter and Tommy Thompson campaigns demanded an invite, but Dr. Paul's campaign did not.
The reasons for Ed Failor's refusal to consider inviting Ron Paul, despite his growing popularity, have been called 'lame' by many, including Jan Mickelson on his radio show. Many people are starting to ask questions about the legitimacy of the ITR as an organization for tax relief for average people and Ed Failor's connection as a Senior Advisor to McCain's campaign.
However, the Ron Paul campaign is once again turning lemons into lemonade. Realizing that there will be hundreds of potential voters gathering at this forum, they have decided to crash it. They rented the conference hall directly next to the one being used for the forum in the Hy-Vee Hall of the Iowa Events Center. Immediately after the ITR's forum ends, a Ron Paul rally will begin. Everyone attending the ITR forum will be invited over to the watch Ron Paul himself speak about the importance of Life and Liberty.
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will celebrate life and liberty at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, June 30th.
Dr. Paul will share his message of freedom, peace and prosperity at the
Hy-Vee Hall Room C
Iowa Events Center
730 Third Street
Des Moines, Iowa.
The rally will start immediately following the conclusion of the Presidential Candidates Forum sponsored by Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The public is invited. Food and beverage will be provided to the first 500 people who arrive.
